Each class will introduce something new about this fascinating culture. We'll talk about the medicine system, oral history, relationships, cosmology, and the Aztec calendar.

A common thread will be the Tradition's ancient yet practical daily disciplines that we can use to restore and maintain our physical, mental, emotional, and energetic health.

About Tlatzolkalli: She is an appointed TziwatlMaxtiani (teacher) and one of only a few authorized practitioners of the Ketzal healing system in the United States. Since 2003 she has studied with Tzen Tzatzoehetzintzintzin, elder and head of the Teztkatlipoka Medicine Council.

Spirit Voices: The Mysteries and Magic of North Asian Shamanism- Workshop & Book Signing

Date: Sunday, March 10th, 2024

Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Workshop ~ 4pm - 5pm Book Signing

Cost: $45

What is shamanism? Where is it from? What are the requirements to become one? Anthropologists tell us that the word “shaman” derives from the Tungus language and traditions, but few people understand the full scope of what that means. In this class, we will explore the history and practice of shamanism. We will walk through the landscapes of North Asia—the region known as the “Cradle of Shamanism”—and the largely hidden and unfamiliar traditions of Turkic, Mongolic, and Tungusic shamanism, exploring the subtle and unique aspects of each tradition.

This is a comprehensive class that will explore:

· Indigenous spiritual and shamanic traditions and beliefs of the Turkic, Mongol, and Tungus peoples

· Broad cosmology and mythology of these shamanic cultures

· Shamanic tools used by these cultures

· Practical concepts and methods that can enhance your own practice

This class will largely draw from topics and themes from David’s new book “Spirit Voices: The Mysteries and Magic of North Asian Traditions”.

About David Shi:

David Shi is a shamanic worker and folk magic practitioner who primarily engages in traditional North Asian forms of shamanism. He is primarily of Manchurian descent, but can also trace ancestry to Mongolian, Chinese, Korean, as well as a little Tungus Siberian and ancient Central Asian Turkic heritage as well. Raised in a household that incorporated both Southeast Siberian and North Chinese practices, David has dedicated his spare time to the study of the spiritual traditions of his ancestors and of greater Eurasia. Recognized as a sagaasha/ongodtengertei, a future shaman prior to initiation, among both Mongolian and Korean shamans, David’s practices are deeply rooted in spirit work in which ancestral and land spirits are called to empower all workings. David’s readings incorporate a combination of Tarot, Runes, Bones, Jaw-harp, as well as Mongolian stone divination (known as Kumalak in Turkic Central Asia).

David is the author of the new book “Spirit Voices: The Mysteries and Magic of North Asian Shamanism”, and currently resides in Manhattan, New York where he occasionally provides spiritual services, products, and workshops to his immediate communities. Follow him on Instagram @davidjshi311.
